CBACS Foundation: Purpose

CBACS Foundation is an education and research centre focussed on providing compensatory cultural education for members of the British African Caribbean community. The objective of CBACS Foundation is:

… an educational centre focussed on contributing to wider social inclusion, cohesion and economic growth through facilitating cultural evolution amongst British African Caribbeans in three primary areas: transformation and self-renewal; self-reliance and community regeneration.

CBACS Foundation: Leadership

The director of CBACS Foundation, Dr Gloria Gordon, is committed to helping young people succeed in school and later life.

Dr Gordon is currently developing a framework for school and family partnership to assist educators, teachers, parents and guardians in solving some of the problems young British African-Caribbean’s face whilst trying to enhance their education.

Dr Gloria Gordon, a human development professional and 2002 National Teaching and Research Fellow, has developed her own learning and teaching philosophy (Human Centred Unconditional Passionate Appreciation) to meet the particular needs of a diverse and globalising world. In addition she has developed the Formative Learning Centre (FLC) to complement the more common informative education offered in schools, colleges and universities.

Dr Gordon aims to be a catalysts for transformational change amongst members of the British African Caribbean community in achieving the goals of The Metanoia Project 2007-2034.

CBACS Foundation: Educational Activities – The Game of Life Series
Our most recent Game of Life event was held on 26 September at London South Bank University where we carried out a cultural web mapping exercise of our current black culture and our aspirational culture. This was a very fruitful exercise with great significance for achieving both short and long term goals of The Metanoia Project 2007-2034.
